Accepting Yourself and Being Genuinely Happy

Accepting Yourself and Being Genuinely Happy

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” ― Maya Angelou, Letter to My Daughter

People ask me how I overcome my insecurities always give them the same answer, which is, accepting the fact that it defines me and only me. It is a known fact that in order to be happy with the other person, one needs to find happiness within themselves and be happy with themselves as well. This can be done by first knowing who exactly I am, what is it that I love, what makes me smile and what makes me frown. Finding happiness within yourself takes a lot of time and a lot of commitment to oneself, then only can one find true joy in oneself. It is not a matter of day or two, but it is a process which needs to be a big part of our lives.

I agree, when you love yourself you won’t tolerate mess from anybody, particularly men. Your right, it took a while for me, personally to love who I am and trying to become. It’s a journey.
