Deeper into Beauty

“The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.” ~ Audrey Hepburn

What is beauty? How can you tell if a person is beautiful or not? Can you really define the level of someone’s beauty by just looking at their face? I think not. Beauty is no something that a person can judge at first. Yes, a person may look pleasing to the eye at the first glimpse but unlike the common perception that is not the only thing that is used to define beauty. To define a person’s beauty you must look beyond their physical features. You must look at their heart. A pretty face with a vindictive heart will never account for a beautiful person. Remember that the next time you find someone beautiful. Everything is never what it seems to be. Unlike the traditional concepts, beauty is not just limited to humans. What comes to your mind when you see your favorite celebrity parked in your street? “Wow, what a beauty!” At least this is what came to my mind. However for the purpose of this article let’s just stick to the human aspect of beauty. Beauty in our case is the quality of being pleasant especially to look at. Beauty in no way is gender specific but yes it is more frequently used when it comes to women.

For men, words like handsome and striking are a more common occurrence. However, that does not deter us from the fact that both men and women may possess beauty. And yes this again is not limited to physical attributes. Some may perceive a person to be a beauty based on a random act of kindness done by said person. Some may even consider you to be a beauty based on the way you talk or cook or act and the list goes on. What we’re trying t say is that beauty is not just what you look like, it’s what you are and what you do with what you are. Kindness and other such acts are bound to get you the title of a beauty in the eyes in the same way that having a nice face and figure will. It just matters on the people who are looking AT YOU.

Some people place a lot of importance on the physical aspect of beauty whereas other place more significance on the spiritual one. In the end, it is just about the type of people who are around you and the qualities that you yourself possess! It isn’t wrong if people place more importance on physical beauty because that is what we see about a person at first glance. We cannot get to know how a person is just by looking at them which is why humans place a lot of importance on what they see. Each has their own merits, but in the end it’s also about what you prioritize about yourself and others.
