Life Update: Eating Healthy On A Budget

A healthy life is a life worth living. Just think about it, what would you do with a lifestyle that is not healthy? You wouldn’t last for long that is something that we can guarantee. Living healthy doesn’t mean that you can’t party or live the way you want. All we ask is that you add some type of healthy activity in your life. Whether it is adding more green vegetables to your diet or going out for a long walk every other day or even skipping that cigarette every once in a while. These are just some of the things that will help you live a better and healthy life and keep you happy in the long run too. With so many ailments and diseases revolving around us, making the right eating choices has become a necessity. Where one used to devour on fast food and junk, now one must incorporate healthy meals such as fruits, whole wheat and etc. on a daily basis! It is a misconception that eating healthy is expensive, eating healthy can be done so on a budget if one buys groceries and makes something healthy every day! There are various restaurants that serve healthy options and even have coupon options as well! With the will and determination, you can change your unhealthy lifestyle and still manage to save up!

  1. Buy whatever vegetables are on sale and find out what grocery stores have cheap fresh produce.
  2. Go to small grocery market for cheap spices and produce or get them from online.
  3. Buy cheap proteins (eggs, cheaper cuts of meat and chicken, etc.).
    EAT MORE VEGGIES THAN MEAT! It’s way cheaper than just buying a lot of meat.
  4. Buy canned goods — watch out for sneaky sodium!
     Friendly tip: once you open vegetable canned good, wash it out before you start cooking it.
  5. Look for sales, coupons, and buy in bulks!

    I have been trying SO hard to do this. I keep it up for a while, then I fall back into the quick fast food diet.

    Hope you’re healthy eating is going well! You can always eat healthy on a budget, even by simply taking the “lighter” option on certain foods. I am a big fan of salads, and I eat at least one every day, be it either with my lunch or with my dinner, and that can help fill you up! 🙂
